Standard Chartered Bank (Uganda) Limited, commonly known as Stanchart Uganda, is a commercial bank in Uganda. It is one of the banks licensed by the Bank of Uganda, the national banking regulator.[2]

Stanchart Uganda is a large bank, serving large corporate clients, upscale retail customers and medium to large business enterprises. As of December 2010[update], it is the second largest commercial bank in Uganda, by assets, with an estimated asset base of US$782.6 million (UGX:1.8 trillion), behind Stanbic Bank.[3] The bank owns an estimated 16% of total bank assets in the country and maintains approximately 2.5% of all bank branches in Uganda.[4]
Founded in 1912, Standard Chartered Bank (Uganda), is the oldest commercial bank in the country.
Stanchart Uganda is a subsidiary of the Standard Chartered Bank Group, an International financial services conglomerate, headquartered in London in the United Kingdom, with operations in more than seventy countries and a network of over 1,700 branches, employing in excess of 73,000 people.[5]

The Managing Director of Standard Chartered Bank (Uganda) is Lamin Manjang, a native of the Gambia, who has been with the Standard Chartered Group since 2000.[7]
